Program Coordinator

 This is an exciting time to join our team as we plan for the future! 

Position Title: Program Coordinator

Hours: 30-40 hours/week. Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Hours flexible, but subject to change to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Seasonal overtime. Occasional evenings or weekends required. 

Wages & Benefits: $17-$22/hour. Company IRA match. Generous paid holiday schedule. Paid time off after six months.

Vina Moses Center helps people through times of hardship, engaging the community to build resilience and improve wellbeing.

Our free thrift store, seasonal programs, and emergency assistance fund are part of a coordinated community effort to meet urgent and emerging needs of people experiencing poverty, homelessness, or who are at risk. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization that has worked with low-income and underserved communities in Benton County for 104 years. We are committed to equity and inclusion as we address the social determinants of health. 

Volunteers are integral to our day-to-day operations, special projects, and ongoing programs. We accept and distribute community donations, and recycle and repurpose items that can't be put out in our free thrift store. We can serve nearby geographic areas through strategic agency partnerships.

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator ensures the everyday success and accessibility of Vina Moses Center programs through coordination of direct service delivery. The ideal candidate monitors these programs and effectively documents and communicates directly to the Executive Director.

  • Giving Tree Program

  • Free Thrift Store

Support organizational coordination and implementation of:

  • Volunteer Program

  • Fundraising Plan & Donor Database

  • Communications Plan, Newsletter and Other Mailings

  • Other programs and events as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Emergency Financial Services Program objectives based on program goals 

  • Build and maintain community partnerships to ensure equitable access and distribution of services

    • Represent Vina Moses Center at interagency meetings, including: Benton County Financial Assistance Network, Emergency Food Service Providers, and Linn Benton Health Equity Alliance

  • Conduct and coordinate community outreach and engagement throughout our service area.

  • Answer Emergency Financial Services phone and help answer general office phone.

    • Operate as part of a team that conducts simple client intakes for our Emergency Financial Services program

    • Determine level of assistance and follow through for financial requests 

  • Manage client software/database and ensure information is collected, analyzed, and reported to support program goals.

  • Prioritize interactions in a professional and courteous manner with clients, donors, and volunteers by phone, email, and in person. 

  • Learn and develop program technologies and processes as they are developed and implemented.

  • Demonstrate competency to set task priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress toward goals, and track activities.

  • Work cooperatively and supportively with all staff to ensure optimum agency and project progress.

  • Meet Center guidelines for cleanliness, organization and overall safety.

  • Participate in biweekly staff meetings.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clear, effective, and reliable oral and written communication skills.

  • Cultural and language competencies, such as Spanish language fluency

  • Innovative self-starter who thrives in a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and needs in a fast paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Effectively work in a team situation with individuals of varying backgrounds.

  • Respectfully work with persons from diverse backgrounds. Sensitivity to appreciate the role of cultural, social, and behavioral factors in the acceptability and delivery of  services.

  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.

  • Fluency with drafting and sharing documents through various platforms (ex. Google, Microsoft, etc).

  • Proficiency in social media platforms.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or similar

  • Knowledge of local and regional resources and services

  • Experience with client database/management programs. Knowledge about Apricot and/or Social Solutions is a plus.

  • Project management experience
